People
not only create our coins, they also set the standards of the AUSTRIAN MINT. And those are of international quality. Thus the mint can offer First Class expertise in a world-wide environment, be it as supplier of precious metal blanks of the highest quality, be it in the form of consulting in the planning and construction of production plants for other mints, the procurement and processing of material, advice on production or administrative problems, or in questions of marketing. Grounded in centuries of experience, the employees of the mint in Vienna have the technical and commercial competence to face the challenges of today and tomorow.
Machines
are becoming ever more important, even in the mint, where skilful crafting by hand remains a fundamental part of the process. The level of technology and engineering at the AUSTRIAN MINT is state of the art, whether it be the production of precious metal blanks in a new and modern plant, or the many automated work procedures up to and including the striking of coins on fully automatic and semi-automatic presses of the highest class.
Coins
owe their success above all to their design and their quality. The international recognition of ist standing in the world of numismatics is testified to by the choice of the AUSTRIAN MINT to be one of the five mints to issue official coins for the International Olympic Committee for the centennial celebrations of the Olympic movement. Some 300 million coins are struck at Am Heumarkt in Vienna each year. A significant factor in the international recognition given to these coins is the constant, strict quality assurance right up to the final inspection.
